Why Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy Users May Soon Be Receiving Significant Compensation

Have you or a loved one ever used Ozempic, Mounjaro, or Wegovy?

Have you or a loved one suffered serious side effects after using them?

If so, you might be eligible for significant compensation.

Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy Side Effects

Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy are weekly injections that contain semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1).

Semaglutide mimics the body’s GLP-1 hormone to help with insulin production and signal the brain to reduce appetite.

After the discovery that semaglutide injections could help people lose weight, they went viral for their weight-loss side effects and became widely prescribed.

Ozempic and Mounjaro are prescribed to treat type 2 diabetes and are not FDA-approved for weight loss, yet they’re still being prescribed off-label as weight-loss medications.

Wegovy, on the other hand, is an FDA-approved weight-loss drug created to help with chronic weight management in adults with obesity.

Tirzepatide, one of the active ingredients in Mounjaro, is also FDA-approved for weight loss and prescribed under the name Zepbound.

In 2023, 1.7% of all Americans had been prescribed a semaglutide medication; that’s almost 6 million people using one of these medications for either diabetes or weight loss, and that number keeps growing.

Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy users have experienced serious side effects, such as hospitalization, excessive vomiting, stomach paralysis, gallbladder removal, and several other serious injuries, including cancer.

Doctors are still prescribing these medications, unaware of the serious conditions that patients can develop from these medications.

Some of the serious conditions developed after using Ozempic, Mounjaro, or Wegovy can cause significant problems that can last for a long time, even after stopping the medications.

And, since some of these conditions can’t be cured, anyone who develops them is potentially facing a lifetime of medication or medical interventions.

According to a recent complaint, Novo Nordisk and Lilly, the manufacturers of Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy, failed to warn patients and doctors that the medication could cause serious and irreversible side effects.

As a result, lawsuits are currently being filed to help compensate victims and their families for their suffering.

Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy Lawsuits

Lawsuits are currently being filed by Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy users for injuries suffered from the serious side effects of using these medications.

In February 2024, the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation ordered that all current Ozempic lawsuits in federal court be centralized, allowing for each claim to be resolved individually while making rulings and the discovery process to be streamlined.

Recent complaints allege that the manufacturer failed to put on the warning label the potential gastrointestinal and gallbladder issues that can occur while using Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy.

A recent lawsuit against the manufacturers of Mounjaro states that “Eli Lilly and Company have downplayed the severity of the gastrointestinal events caused by Mounjaro.”

Because of the alleged manufacturer’s negligence, people who used Ozempic, Mounjaro, or Wegovy may soon be eligible for compensation.
